Through my position as Project Manager at NAHEC, it was my responsibility to create and manage the experiential programs. Through this process I was responsible for creating program procedures, rubrics, and curricula to accompany the student experience.
JOB SKILLS TRAINING CURRICULUM - This curriculum was developed to introduces local high school students to job skills in order to assist them in finding and keeping a job. Students were introduced to a variety of concepts in the workplace. These include: Problem Solving, Workplace Ethics, Teamwork, and the World of Work. Along with creating the curriculum I was responsible for conducting the training, recruiting participants for the training, and training other staff on how to conduct the training. This process resulted in an instructors manual and a student workbook.
CASE MANAGEMENT PROCEDURES - These procedures were developed to provide consistency as the program grew. This document was given to all new case managers.
JOB SHADOWING PROGRAM PROCEDURES - The job shadowing program is a 30 hour shadowing program that allows high school students to get a front line view of a health care career. The procedures were developed to keep case managers consistent with the desired outcome of the program.
HEALTH SCHOLARS PROGRAM PROCEDURES - The Health Scholars program is a 120 hour work experience program that allows high school students to work in the health care field before making a final decision on their career choice. The procedures were developed to keep case managers consistent with the desired outcome of the program.
