Below are the two major projects that I managed during my tenure at NAHEC.
My Health Career® (www.myhealthcareer.org) - My Health Career® is a database-driven career exploration web site that was developed to serve the mission of NAHEC and the needs of the community. Working with a web vendor out of Manhattan (Iradix), I oversaw the details of the creation of this platform including, but not limited to, identification of navigation, concept development, site design, content population, and technical support. The My Health Career® web site proved to be such an effective tool in the world of AHEC's that six (6) AHEC centers in New York State and the entire state of Maine have licensed the web site to replicate NAHEC's success in their geographic regions. The licensing of the site allowed me to break into the field of customer service and customer relations. This was a welcomed challenged that proved to be a very successful match for my skill sets. Through this development I was responsible for providing all training and technical support to the licensees. These relationships also allowed me an opportunity to sell other NAHEC products and services to the clients, in turn increasing NAHEC's profit margin.
NorthStar™ Community Career Web (www.northstarweb.org) - NorthStar™ Community Career Web was developed in two areas of the NAHEC region to serve the needs of our local community partners. These community partners saw the value in the My Health Career® web site and wanted to expand the platform to accommodate all industries. This great opportunity required the development of a Project Initiation Document to outline the relationship of the web designer, graphic designer, and NAHEC. This document illustrated the roles of each party and the expectations of the project. This new project gave me the opportunity to work with more than one vendor on the creation of this site. It was my responsibility to keep the creation of this web site on track and to make sure it met all of the needs of the NAHEC staff, board, and community partners. The success of this project has initiated several other sales leads in different regions of New York State as well as other states.
Support Service Evaluation Users Guide - The Support Service Evaluation web site was created as a project separate from NAHEC. Working closely with a friend, Keri Merchant, she discovered a need for a tool that allows for the creation, distribution, and analysis of surveys. Keri pursued a relationship with Iradix Consulting to develop an online interface that would create the results she was looking for. Through this process, Keri called on myself to work directly with Iradix Consulting to identify and implement the technological components of the web site.
